In these Terms, “MODS”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the business identified above. “Customer”, “you” and “your” refer to the person requesting or paying for the service.
MODS provides services including:
- Car recovery
- Van and light-commercial vehicle recovery
- Vehicle transportation
- Jump starts
- Emergency fuel delivery
- Breakdown and roadside assistance
We primarily operate across Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow.
MODS does not currently provide accident recovery unless this has been expressly agreed with us in advance.
The exact service available will depend on the vehicle, its condition, location, road conditions, accessibility and the equipment required.
You may request assistance by telephone, WhatsApp, website form or another method offered by us.
When requesting a service, you should provide accurate information about:
- Your location
- The vehicle type, make and model
- The vehicle’s condition
- The nature of the breakdown
- The requested destination
- Any access, height, weight or safety restrictions
A website form submission does not guarantee that a driver has been dispatched. For urgent roadside assistance, call 085 196 9572.
A service agreement is formed when we accept your request and confirm that assistance will be provided.
By requesting recovery or transportation, you confirm that:
- You own the vehicle or have permission from its owner
- You are authorised to arrange its recovery or transportation
- The vehicle is not stolen or subject to any unlawful restriction
- The destination is authorised to receive the vehicle
We may ask for identification, proof of ownership or proof of authority before moving a vehicle.
You are responsible for any loss or cost arising from inaccurate information about your authority over the vehicle.
Prices and Quotes
Where reasonably possible, we will provide a price or pricing basis before dispatch.
Prices may depend on:
- Your location
- Distance travelled
- Vehicle type, size and weight
- The condition and position of the vehicle
- Time of day
- Road tolls
- Waiting time
- Additional labour or equipment
- The recovery destination
A quote is based on the information provided by the customer. If that information is inaccurate or the circumstances are materially different on arrival, additional charges may apply.
Where possible, we will explain additional charges and obtain your agreement before carrying out extra work. Irish service providers must provide clear contractual and pricing information, and services must be supplied with the necessary skill and reasonable care.
Payment is due at the time agreed with MODS, normally when the service is completed unless another arrangement has been confirmed.
The customer is responsible for:
- The agreed recovery or call-out charge
- Additional authorised work
- Applicable tolls, parking charges or storage costs
- Reasonable waiting-time charges where disclosed
- Fuel supplied during an emergency fuel delivery
Vehicles may only be released once payment has been completed, where legally permitted.
You should contact us immediately if assistance is no longer required.
Where a driver has not yet been dispatched, no cancellation charge will normally apply unless otherwise agreed.
Where a driver has already been dispatched, travelled to your location or arrived at the location, a reasonable call-out or cancellation charge may apply.
Any applicable fee should be explained when the service is booked or when cancellation is requested.
Charges may also apply where:
- The customer provides an incorrect location
- The vehicle is no longer present
- The customer cannot be contacted
- Access to the vehicle is unavailable
- The customer has arranged another provider without cancelling MODS
- The service cannot proceed because important information was withheld
Nothing in this section affects any statutory cancellation rights that apply to the customer.
Arrival and Response Times
Any arrival or response time provided is an estimate and not a guarantee.
Response times can be affected by:
- Traffic and road closures
- Weather conditions
- Distance
- Driver availability
- Emergency demand
- Garda or emergency-service restrictions
- Vehicle or equipment issues
- Incorrect location information
We will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed of significant delays.
Contact us as soon as possible if you have a concern about a service.
Please include your name, contact number, service date, vehicle details and an explanation of the issue.
